Fios da Trama - Vol. 2

Dando continuidade ao primeiro volume de "Fios da Trama", este novo álbum retoma peças representativas de um período de descoberta e experimentação na música brasileira. As oito obras do "Fios da Trama Vol. 2" foram criadas entre 1978 e 1997 e refletem rumos bastante diferentes na produção daquela época. Em algumas delas sobressai a exploração de tecnologias eletroacústicas então emergentes (como em “Discurso aos Objetos” e “MEL V”), ou a aproximação com processos de sonificação (em “O Mar” e “MEL V”). Em outras, as conexões entre som e fala, entre música e linguagem, torna-se o fio condutor (como em “Noigandres”, “Nomes Impróprios” e “Sentido”). Como em outros álbuns do BERRO, aparece também o contraponto entre a música e as artes sonoras (especialmente em "Poema Não-Música"). Há ainda a referência ao intenso movimento político dos anos 60 e ao projeto revolucionário de Paulo Freire (“La Manifestation”). Por trás de tudo isso, buscamos revelar uma parte da rica atividade de artistas brasileiros que permanece pouco acessível ao público.

Following the first volume of "Fios da Trama", this new album reveals pieces representing a period of discovery and experimentation in Brazilian music. The eight works of "Fios da Trama Vol. 2" were created between 1978 and 1997 and reflect quite different directions in the music production at that time. In some of them, the exploration of emerging electroacoustic technologies stands out (as in “Discurso aos Objetos” and “MEL V”), or the approach to sonification processes (in “O Mar” and “MEL V”). In others, the connections between sound and speech, between music and language, become the common thread (as in “Noigandres”, “Nomes Impróprios” and “Sentido”). As in other BERRO albums, there is also a counterpoint between music and the sound arts (especially in "Poema Não-Música"). There is also a reference to the intense political movement of the 60s and to Paulo Freire's revolutionary project (“La Manifestation”). Behind all this, we seek to reveal a part of the rich activity of Brazilian artists that remains inaccessible to the public.
