O Ramo de Maiori (2019)

In 'O Ramo de Maiori' (The Branch of Maiori) I've played over the overall montage of sounds recorded for' Coleção Peripatética de Sons' (2019), using ritualistic objects with personal value: ceramic plates used on Umbanda and Candomblé; catholic calyx; tablewares acquired on Praça XV, Rio de Janeiro; raw rice and beans; the piccolo Rampone; whistles that imitate birds; and berra-boi.

Alexandre Fenerich (São Paulo, 1977) is a composer and sound artist. Doctor of Musicology by the University of São Paulo with research that dealt with the relationship between musique concrète, intimacy and voice. Also works on musical composition aided by digital media, mainly live electronics and sound spatialization. Has won a Brazilian government prize for his work (Funarte – 2005). In 2019, he participated in the exhibition Rios do Rio (Rivers of Rio) at the National Historic Museum, in Rio de Janeiro. He is a professor at the Villa-Lobos Institute at the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Unirio).
