Este é um registro parcial da performance Signo: Som: Infinito: ________________, que consistiu no estouro de um balão de látex inflável por um objeto pontiagudo, cujo som foi captado por um microfone conectado a um pedal de efeitos e então reproduzido em loop por um amplificador. A duração da reprodução sonora do trabalho foi delimitada pela carga da bateria de alimentação do sistema de áudio (aproximadamente três horas). Trata-se de uma investigação sobre a reiteração sonora do gesto somado às características locais onde é realizado, e prolongado por um tempo de apresentação variável. A performance teve início às 14h00 do dia 28 de julho de 2018, durante o evento DESCOLONIZATION!!! #5, na trilha de caminhada do Cerrado Infinito, projeto concebido pelo artista Daniel Caballero na Praça Homero Silva, Pompeia, em São Paulo.

This is a partial record of the performance Sign: Sound: Infinite: ________________, which consisted of the explosion of one inflatable latex balloon using a pointed object whose sound was captured by a microphone connected to the effects pedal and then played in a loop with an amplifier. The duration of the work's sound reproduction was delimited by the charge of the audio system's power battery (approximately 03 hours). The research is based on the sound reiteration of the gesture along with the local attributes where it is performed and prolonged by a variable presentation time. The performance began at 2 pm on 28th July 2018, during the event DECOLONIZATION!!! #5, on the Cerrado Infinito hiking trail, a project conceived by artist Daniel Caballero at Homero Silva Square, Pompeia neighborhood, São Paulo city.

Thiago R is a sound/visual artist and an art teacher. He lives and works in São Paulo, Brazil, and has a Master in Arts from Universidade Estadual Paulista – Unesp. He researches different ways to work with sound and listening, making do-it-yourself sound machines, field recordings, sound pieces, installations, performances, mixed media, drawings, etc.
